The Oude Geuze Vandervelden series are a tribute to the founder of Oud Beersel, Henri Vandervelden, who started the brewery in 1882. The brewery was named Vandervelden until 1954, when his grandson, also named Henri Vandervelden, who took over the brewery in 1953, changes the name to Oud Beersel as a response to what he called to be the changed and the ‘new Brussels’.
Oude Geuze Vandervelden 135
This creation is a tribute to the founder of Oud Beersel who started the brewery 135 years ago in the year 1882.
It is a unique blend of one year old lambic matured on foeders from Tuscany, Italy that were used for thirty years to mature the famous Brunello di Montalcino wine and a three year old Lambic that matured on an old Oud Beersel foeder.
This particular Oude Geuze with an explicit touch of red wine is aging in 37,5 cl bottles and is available in limited quantities.
